Planning Your Ideal Birth

Planning Your Ideal Birth Flier- 11-7-13 (1)

Everyone wants the perfect pregnancy with no complications and an easy delivery but what is the best way to have your ideal birth?

Here are some questions to consider:

Who do you want to be your primary care provider?  Obstetricians, general/ family practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwives, or Certified Practicing Midwife are all options.  There are definite advantages and disadvantages to each provider so it’s best to make an informed choice that you’re comfortable with.

Where would you like to deliver? In a hospital, at a birthing center or at home are a few locations to consider. Each setting has a unique feel and may make you more comfortable or more anxious. Usually learning more about each location can answer questions and lower anxiety.

Have you considered improving nutrition for your pregnancy? Nutrition plays a vital role for you and your baby.

Are you considering taking some birthing classes?   What types of classes? What should you be looking for?

What is a doula and why do they matter?

Have you considered using chiropractic care or massage therapy during your pregnancy?  The alignment of the hips and pelvis play a critical role for ease and comfort during your delivery.
